The best 5 months – Internship in AADK Spain
Layla Aliyeva
After getting my International Communication master’s degree in Vilnius University I decided to improve my communication skills and go deep in intercultural communication. Therefore the position of cultural manager at AADK Spain was a great opportunity for my future career.
As an international artistic platform AADK concentrated on developing projects of research and contemporary art creation that coincided with my education and professional background. The headquarter of AADK Spain Centro Negra was space of creativity and ongoing art projects where I could realize my theoretical and practical knowledge.
During 5 months which I spent with the great AADK team I was involved into communication with coming artists (residents) and assisting the artists’ needs as AADK mostly focuses on residency programs. I also tried to improve the quality of teamwork creating daily and weekly tasks for team and following their realization. Additionally, organization of structure and events (workshops; movie nights; open studios) took place in AADK centre every week or month. Text editing, preparing press releases, materials for international media, keep contact with press and other institutions based on my journalistic background helped me to adopt those skills to international level.
In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that international internships give us opportunity to work with international team and get close with European values and cultures. Erasmus internship is an incredible opportunity for every student.
