Praktika Pastero Institute, Paryžiuje
I am a biochemistry student at Vytautas Magnus University and I got an opportunity to spend 3 months (from february till the end of april) as an intern in Institut Pasteur.
More than 2400 people from all over the world work on the Paris campus of the institute. My lab was located in the department of Microbiology and our main research object was thremophilic archaea organisms.
During these three months I’ve learned many new molecular biology techniques, such as site-directed mutagenesis, cloning, recombinant protein expression and analysis, which is going to be very useful in my future studies and career. I’ve also had the opportunity to work in international environment and interact with researchers from different scientific fields.
I am very happy that I had the opportunity to participate in Erasmus+ traineeship program. Not only I gained a lot of experience in my study field, but I believe I have also improved as a person. I strengthened my communication skills, I am better at adaptation to new situations now. I also met many wonderful people whom I hopefully will see again.
