Praktika Lietuvos ambasadoje Paryžiuje
Last summer I graduated Vilnius University where I finished my bachelor’s degree in Oriental studies. At that time I was not sure what to study for my master’s degree, but I was always interested in international relations and politics, so I decided to gain more experience in public sector by doing a recent graduate Erasmus+ traineeship at the embassy of Lithuania to France.
During the six months period of traineeship my main tasks were to write weekly French press reviews and prepare briefings on French foreign policies and international relations. I also had to translate various texts on economic and political issues of France, participate in diplomatic meetings, conferences, receptions and other events in our embassy.
I think that this traineeship was a really valuable experience for me, because during this time I gained a lot of knowledge about diplomatic service, public sector and international relations. I also improved my french language skills and met a lot of interesting people from various countries. This expereince helped me to decide which direction I should choose for my career path and I would recommend it to anyone who is not sure what to study or where to work after his or her graduation or maybe just wants to spend some time abroad.
