Praktika įmonėje Datactics Jungtinėje Karalystėje
On 14‘th of July 2015, just after my graduation of Econometrics at Vilnius University, I have started my placement at Datactics – Data Quality Management Company based in Belfast, United Kingdom. After this 6 months traineeship is over I can say that taking up this challenge was probably the best career related decision I have ever made so far.
During my traineeship I was a member of Data Analysts‘ team and from the very first day I was involved in creating Data Quality Management projects, taking part’ in implementation of company‘s business intelligence reports and interactive visualizations, meeting with company‘s clients, participating in various events (in Belfast and London) and being part of company‘s everyday life as a regular team member.
Datactics is a small company, but I think that it was one of it‘s biggest advantages, because, in contrast of working in a big corporate company, there I‘ve taken up a lot of responsibility, had a freedom to share my ideas, worked on very dynamic and interesting projects and was able to learn a lot of new things. No need to mention that support I got working there was enormous and that people working at Datactics quickly became more friends that just a regular colleagues.
I am confident that every student or recent graduate should try real life work experience in a foreign country. It may look challenging at the very beginning, especially if you have to leave longer than just for a couple of months, but once you make it, you realize how this experience improves you as a person, how much self confidence you get trying to settle in a country you probably have never been before, how open minded you become living in multicultural environment and how much you improve as a professional.
All this incredible experience definitely changed me as a professional and as a human being. It was a huge challenge, but at the same time traineeship at Datactics was my best working experience so far and a beautiful kick – start for my international career. I couldn‘t be more grateful for being given this amazing opportunity.
