Erasmus internship at Segula Technologies in Paris
Neringa Šideikytė
Hello everyone, my name is Neringa and here is my internship story.
I did my Erasmus+ internship at Segula Technologies in Paris, France for 4 months. I am very happy that I took the opportunity to be a part of this big international company and to improve my French language skills. Segula technologies operates as an engineering and innovation consultancy company. The Company offers pre-project analysis, functional design, detailed design of the product and the manufacturing process, tooling design, and series production. I did my role as Deputy Product Manager in IT department and since Segula Technologies operates worldwide, I was responsible to communicate with international teams and customers. I had to improve customer’s experience by tracking performance, preparing weekly reports and the results. I was responsible for analyzing customer’s feedback in order to recognize unmet needs. I have collaborated with the customers and developers to create an international platform to build new products. I gained a lot of experience by participating in the business meetings, I helped to create new processes, I was able to take the role as responsible person in different situations. Besides this technical part of the work, I was given the time to prepare something by myself and share my own thoughts, suggestions or new ideas how to improve the business. I feel really lucky because all of my colleagues are friendly and helpful so since the beginning I felt very good to be here. There are a lot of career opportunities in this company so I am glad to stay even longer after the internship.
It was a big challenge for me because I finished Lithuanian Philology and French Language parallel studies and I was already working for 2 years in Western Union, Lithuania as Risk Assessment Analyst. Engineering and information technology is a completely different world comparing to the one I was used to be in and I am really proud that I have conquered my fears and left my comfort zone to come here. I have grown personally and professionally and I encourage everyone not to miss this great possibility to work, travel and to even try something completely new for yourself.
